Still sorting through this stuff...

(NOTE: The date of this post reflects the original date I posted it on Deviant Art. I re-posted it here on blogger on February 24, 2010, 6:13pm)

Okay.

My first journal entry was EXTREMELY lame. Sorry.

I actually started it and then something came up, and instead of saving it and continuing on later, I just decided to post it as is.
Having said that... um, there doesn't seem to be a way to edit this journal once you've posted, or a way to save a post in progress before posting, is there? Or am I just being dim here (which is nothing new)?

Well, I've been a member of DA for over four years, but I've really done nothing with the account, either as an artist or even as a curious browser. Part of that is because I already am juggling three other blogs, so time was merely an issue. But, the biggest hurdle is that I've been woefully lame in terms of producing any art, so I figured, what's the point? But, lately, I've been trying to get my butt in to the drawing, etc. saddle, so perhaps in 2008 I'll have a totally different appreciation for this site.

I should note that I joined this site in the first place to check out superpower-pnut's galleries, etc. She put me up to this!
The other issues I have with DA is that for some reason I find the navigation of the site a little confusing. But, this is probably an indication of my age and technical backwardness. Well, I can at least do something about the latter, if not the former.

In the meantime, it's been cool taking very baby steps arbitrarily checking out some nooks and crannies here. One big discovery: comic book artist Becky Cloonan is a DA member! I think her account is [link]

For those unfamiliar, she did the art for DEMO, American Virgin and also some mini comics, 5 and Nebuli. I see she has a self-published compilation of her earlier mini comics work available and I hope to track that down. She's pretty damn awesome. I love the fact that she actively creates mini comics, too. That's an area I hope to explore this coming year as well. Try to experiment with some self-publishing and grassroots distribution, like, try to sell some issues at a couple local stores in the area (I have a comic book shop or two in mind and also another small novelty store, so to speak).

Meantime, I have 16 days left to salvage some New Year's Resolutions I made about 12 months ago and for which I have done SQUAT towards fulfilling this year..!

I go now!

Peace out, y'all! (hahaha... I am SO street)

Happy holidays and be careful traveling and shopping out there! I mean it, Dammit!

xoxo

PS.:
HOLY FREAKIN' CRAP! I JUST noticed the "edit" and "delete" buttons for the journal entries! Gah! I am the worst detective ever!

PPS!:
And the "preview" and "add" buttons, too!

First journal entry! And it only took me 4.5 years!

Seriously.

(NOTE: I don't know if I have the tenacity to follow through on this, but as of NOW, I'm going to try and update all my Deviant Art journal entries to this Blogger version of my comics blog. I tried doing this on my Myspace blog, when I officially switched from using my Myspace blog to my Deviant Art blog. I started duplicating my DA posts to Myspace for only a short while and then gave up. Let's see how long THIS lasts.
(So, the date for this post will be the original date (ie. the original DA post date). For completists or however you want to call yourselves, I posted this onto Blogger on February 11, 2010, at around 3:00am.)

(Oh! And the "4.5 years" that I'm referring to in the title? That's with regards to when I originally joined DA before I actually decided to blog on the DA journal. At the time, I was blogging on Myspace. So, like, mid-2003. Make sense?)
